When Kiara first started looking into elite window furnishings for her Perth home, she wasn’t chasing a dramatic renovation. She simply wanted a home that felt more comfortable, more private, and better suited to the changing weather conditions that come with living in WA.
Like many homeowners dealing with strong winds in Perth, hot afternoons, and chilly evenings outdoors, Kiara felt like parts of her home were not being fully enjoyed. Her outdoor entertaining area often became uncomfortable during colder weather, while inside the home she wanted better light control and improved family privacy without making rooms feel dark or closed in.
After researching several Perth home improvement options, Kiara decided to contact Modern Group to explore solutions that could improve both her indoor and outdoor spaces at the same time.
What started as a simple enquiry quickly became a complete transformation using elite window furnishings designed for modern Australian living.
For Kiara and her family, the outdoor entertaining area was one of the most important spaces in the home. Perth homeowners know how valuable outdoor areas are throughout the year, but exposure to winds in Perth and seasonal weather changes can make patio living difficult without the right protection.
Kiara explained that rain, cold wind, and changing weather conditions often stopped the family from comfortably using their outdoor space.
That’s where Modern Outdoor Blinds became the ideal solution.
Designed and manufactured in Australia for Australian conditions, Modern’s outdoor blinds helped create a more comfortable outdoor area that could be enjoyed throughout the seasons. By helping block wind and rain while still maintaining airflow and openness, the blinds completely changed the feel of the patio area.
For homeowners investing in perth home improvement projects, improving patio living can significantly increase how often outdoor spaces are used. In Kiara’s case, the difference was immediate.
The outdoor blinds helped:
Kiara especially loved how the outdoor blinds blended into the existing design of the home without making the area feel enclosed. WA being one of the hottest states in the country
While the outdoor area was one part of the project, the interior transformation came through Modern Insulite Plantation Shutters.
Kiara wanted a solution that would improve family privacy while still allowing natural light into the home. One particular window had become an eyesore from outside, and traditional coverings simply did not provide the balance she wanted between privacy and openness.
Modern’s elite window furnishings offered a much cleaner and more functional solution. The plantation shutters allowed Kiara to adjust light levels throughout the day while maintaining privacy from neighbouring properties. This became especially important for family privacy in living areas and bedrooms.
Unlike traditional window coverings, the shutters also complemented the modern appearance of the home, helping rooms feel more organised and refined.
Kiara explained in her google review:
“The plantation shutters let the light in while keeping private and hiding the ugly window.”
For many Perth homeowners searching for elite window furnishings, functionality matters just as much as appearance. Modern’s plantation shutters combine both.
One of the standout features of Modern’s elite window furnishings is the Cleartilt system built into the plantation shutters. Without visible tilt rods or unnecessary moving parts, the shutters offer a cleaner finish while reducing the risk of breakages commonly found in other products. For Kiara, this modern design helped create a sleek and uncluttered appearance throughout the home.
The shutters also offered additional practical benefits including:
1) Excellent Insulation for Perth Conditions
Perth summers can become extremely hot, while winter mornings can still feel cold indoors. Modern plantation shutters provide excellent insulation that can help reduce energy costs by up to 35%. For homeowners dealing with winds in Perth and changing temperatures, insulation becomes an important part of long-term comfort.
2) Water-Resistant Design
Another reason these elite window furnishings worked so well for Kiara’s project was their water-resistant construction. Modern plantation shutters can be installed in bathrooms, laundries, and other moisture-prone areas without the issues associated with timber products.
3) Safer Materials for Families
Modern’s plantation shutters are also made from non-toxic materials and are highly fire-retardant, making them a safer choice for family homes. For homeowners prioritising family privacy and comfort, these added safety benefits provide extra peace of mind.
Outdoor entertaining is a major part of patio living across WA, but outdoor spaces need protection from both summer heat and winter weather. Modern Outdoor Blinds were designed specifically for Australian conditions, making them ideal for Perth home improvement projects focused on outdoor comfort.
Kiara’s outdoor area became far more usable thanks to features including:
1) Protection From Winds in Perth
Strong afternoon breezes and cold winter winds often made outdoor seating uncomfortable before installation. The outdoor blinds helped create a more sheltered environment while still maintaining visibility and airflow.
2) Warmth During Cooler Months
By helping trap warmth and block rain, the blinds improved patio living during colder evenings and winter weather.
3) Flexible Fabric Options
Modern Outdoor Blinds are available in different coloured fabrics depending on the level of shade, privacy, and airflow homeowners want. This flexibility makes them a popular choice for perth home improvement projects where homeowners want both style and practicality.
4) Manual or Motorised Operation
Kiara also appreciated the convenience available with manual, crank, and motorised control options. Motorised outdoor blinds can make everyday operation much easier, especially for larger outdoor areas.
Another part of the experience that stood out for Kiara was the customer service and quick installation process. She specifically mentioned Kim from Modern Group, describing her as helpful and polite throughout the journey.
When homeowners begin perth home improvement projects, communication and reliability can often become major concerns. A quick installation process supported by clear communication helps make the experience much smoother from start to finish.
Kiara shared:
“We’ve had roller shutters, plantation shutters, and outdoor blinds installed by Modern Group, and we love them. It really does make the house look a lot more modern and organised.”
For homeowners investing in elite window furnishings, having confidence in both the products and the team completing the work is equally important.
By combining Modern Outdoor Blinds with Modern Insulite Plantation Shutters, Kiara was able to create a home that felt more functional, more comfortable, and visually more modern.
The project improved:
Most importantly, the upgrades helped create spaces the family could genuinely enjoy throughout the year.
For Perth homeowners looking into elite window furnishings, projects like Kiara’s show how the right products can completely change the feel of both indoor and outdoor spaces without needing a major renovation.
