The federal government is offering a rainwater tank rebate to customers who purchase rainwater tanks of various sizes.

  • $400 rebate available for systems between 2000L and 3999L in capacity, connected to laundry and toilet.
  • $500 rebate available for systems 4000L+ in capacity, connected to laundry and toilet.

This rebate can be claimed from the federal government and is available to all Australian homeowners. The federal rainwater tank rebate can only be claimed by the user, though Modern will happily fulfill all the relevant paperwork so that all you need to do is pop it in the mail.

State Rainwater Tank Rebates

Each state currently offers unique incentive programs to improve water efficiency.

Australian Capital Territory Rainwater Tank Rebate

  • $750 rebate available for systems 2000L to 3999L in capacity, connected to laundry and toilet.
  • $900 rebate available for systems 4000L to 8999L in capacity, connected to laundry and toilet.
  • $1,000 rebate available for systems 9000L+ in capacity, connected to laundry and toilet.

The maximum ACT rainwater tank rebate available: $1,000

New South Wales Rainwater Tank Rebate

  • $150 rebate available for systems 2000L to 3999L in capacity.
  • $400 rebate available for systems 4000L to 6999L in capacity.
  • $500 rebate available for systems 7000L+ in capacity.
  • $500 rebate available for connecting your system to the laundry.
  • $500 rebate available for connecting your system to the toilet.

The maximum NSW rainwater tank rebate available: $1,500

South Australian Rainwater Tank Rebate

  • $200 rebate available for systems connected to laundry or toilet.
  • $1,000 rebate available for systems 1000L in capacity, connected to laundry and toilet.

The maximum SA rainwater tank rebate available: $1,000

Victoria Rainwater Tank Rebate

  • $150 rebate available for systems 600L to 1999L in capacity.
  • $300 rebate available for systems 600L to 1999L in capacity, connected to toilet.
  • $500 rebate available for systems 2000L to 4999L in capacity, connected to laundry or toilet.
  • $900 rebate available for systems 5000L+ in capacity, connected to laundry or toilet.
  • $1,000 rebate available for systems 5000L+ in capacity, connected to laundry and toilet.

Western Australia Rainwater Tank Rebate

  • $50 rebate available for systems 600L to 1999L in capacity.
